<p>Schools work is an increasingly significant area of youth and children’s ministry. This residential course is designed for those with some experience of schools work as well as for those new to this area of ministry – both paid and unpaid. It is suitable for people working in either primary or secondary schools. As well as thinking about the theological underpinning of schools work there will be practical sessions and the opportunity to gain new ideas and insights.</p>
<p>Course content includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>The mission context of schools work</li>
<li>The educational context – legislation and its implications</li>
<li>Developing partnerships between churches and schools</li>
<li>Supporting Christians in the school context</li>
<li>The role of Christian groups</li>
<li>Enabling and equipping volunteers</li>
<li>Assemblies, lessons, and other activities</li>
<li>Developing a strategy</li>
<li>and much more…</li>
